Bloodborne or creative impotence.

Good day, dear audience of the Stopgame https://robocatcasino.co.uk/ website.ru, today I really wanted to speak about one, in my opinion, extremely overrated game called Bloodborne. Yes, I’m a couple of years late in making my opinion, but nevertheless, I believe that now is the time to sum up the outcome of a decent amount of time after the game’s release.
Well, I’ll start right off the bat. Bloodborne is shit. And I have a huge number of arguments in favor of this conclusion, t.To. Apart from the amazing location design, there is essentially nothing else in the game. But in order not to be unfounded, I will now try to substantiate all my speculations and perhaps start with the background.
I started my acquaintance with this game quite recently, but before that I played previous games from From Software. Even during the second part of the Souls series, I had the feeling that the developers were exhausted, but there was still a faint hope that the sharp change in surroundings and accents in the new game would inspire the developers to do something grandiose. But a couple of weeks ago, having sat down to play the game, after several hours of delight from the first impressions, I first began to be tormented by bewilderment, and then outright dissatisfaction with what I saw.
Where to start? Let’s start with the banal, technical execution of the game. And let’s go to this from afar. Port of the first part of dark souls on PC. Do not be surprised or angry, dear readers of this post, I will explain what I mean, but first things first. During the release of the first part of Dark Souls on the Orthodox platform, as many remember, the game was not optimized at all. The cursor does not disappear from the screen, disgusting FPS on any machine, lack of support for technologies important for the game (sorry, I don’t remember everything now), in general it was one of the most disastrous ports in the history of video games and the most comical thing is that all this heresy was fixed in the very first hours by an unknown enthusiast who released… drum roll… ini file with settings. Even then, it could have been assumed that this studio employed far from the best programmers, who, moreover, were not very interested in the quality of the final product. Yes, of course, all this can be explained by the fact that the developers have never released games for PC and the port of this game was actually requested by the gaming community from From, but there is one big BUT. THREE years later, a new game is released on the console with which the developer has been collaborating all along. And what do we see two years after the release?? Incredibly long loading times, which, even if they were fixed in comparison with the release ones, nevertheless, their time still leaves much to be desired. Disgustingly made arenas for boss fights, I think all players of any game in the Souls series and Bloodborne in particular know the moment when, instead of seeing the boss, you see: a column, a wall, a statue, a fence and anything else (underline as appropriate), but not the boss, and this problem wanders from part to part and the developers completely forget about it, without doing anything about it. It’s also worth noting the wonderful control bugs, and in particular, a bug with the camera, also notable for all games in the Souls series, when it clings to any element of the interior and forces your character to turn sharply in some direction. Well, let’s add corpses falling through the textures, living monsters and a bunch of other small bugs that do not add pleasure to the gameplay, and have not been fixed two years after the release. As a result, we get a game that is far from perfect in terms of execution, but this is far from enough to seriously insult the game, but if that was all, I probably would not have started such a long post.
Let’s move on to the next point of my dissatisfaction, which, again, in my opinion, is much more important than the previous bugs. Monotony. You are most likely now raising your eyebrows in bewilderment and are going to downvote me for such blatant slander of the game, but wait, downvote me when you finish reading. The game is monotonous, but not in the matter of environments, but in the matter of enemies, equipment and fights with enemies, and yes, in principle, the very concept of the game and the plot implies that you will fight with humanoid monsters, but forgive me of course, but why the hell in all locations I fight the same half-homeless/half-wolves, just with different amounts of health and force of impact, and from location to location some of them change, for example those you meet in the forest are more likely half-homeless/half-snakes, but the essence of the developers’ laziness does not change. (Well, this is my personal reason for the bombing, but it really freezes me, why arrows in different locations cause different damage?! they have the same fucking guns! yes, of course, this can be explained by the fact that they use blood when shooting, but come on, these are the same homeless people!) And of course, in my opinion, the biggest fail of the game is the bosses, most of them are wolf-like monsters with elemental damage attached to them. Other bosses, despite the differences in appearance, despite the different types of attacks depending on the type of health, are also quite monotonous. My top bastard is Vicar Amelia, I just walked in, kicked her and left, no tactics, no learning patterns or anything else, just came, called her R1 and left! And here another gameplay problem arises. Balance. The bosses, at least the vast majority of them here, are very boring and simple. Many ordinary enemies are much more dangerous than bosses. And when you meet a couple of hunters who, in a couple of blows, send you to the lantern, you are sincerely perplexed as to why the night and the hunt have not ended yet. This, of course, adds doubly dissonance to the game, when, having left the defeated boss, who may be a deity or demigod of this world, you are torn to pieces by a pair of dogs, you involuntarily begin to ask questions: what the hell, these are simple dogs, even moreover, these are the same dogs that were in the first location, why have I been playing for the third dozen hours and still beat the same dogs, homeless people, healthy morons with bricks, why the locations change, but I still beat the same freaks. And you know, returning to the next lantern. Personally, I understand that despite the good level design, the excellent work of the artists, I just don’t want to play it. If, while playing the first part of Dark Souls, you were thinking about how to kill this difficult enemy, then now you are thinking, why the hell is this ordinary enemy so strong, why the hell are they putting 2-3 hunters here at once, who have more defense, health and damage than you, and why the hell are you fighting them?. Yes, many of these are very subjective things, but I began to experience similar things from the second part of Dark Souls, when one of the most “difficult” bosses, the Ancient Dragon, was killed by the tactics: “beat-run-beat-run”, and the only worthy and difficult boss (Hiding in the Dark) was hidden so far away that finding it was a whole separate quest.
I’ll say right away that I haven’t gotten to the third part of Dark Souls yet, I still have hope that the final game in the series will live up to expectations, but I can say for sure that this approach from From Software extremely disappointed me, as well as the fact that the majority gave this game the highest marks simply because it has no worthy competitors, turning a blind eye to the outright hackwork and creative impotence of the developers.
Well, that’s probably all, the post turned out to be quite long and chaotic, so if you don’t agree with any of the above, then please comment, I’m ready to discuss and debate, but I kindly ask, if you have no arguments other than “THE GAME OF RAISIN IS AN ASSHOLE”, then leave your disadvantages and opinions to yourself, thanks to everyone who read this to the end
